people-style-logoAll those celebrities and pro athletes you see salsa-ing their hearts out across your television screen can only mean one thing — another season of Dancing with the Starsis upon us. Season 23 to be precise, and along with all of those fresh two-steps and glittering ensembles also comes another round of stunning looks from Erin Andrews. And lucky for us, we managed to get the hostess with the mostess herself to break down all of her looks from each night and dish on all the behind-the-scenes details.

For the debut of a new season, Erin decided to go big, heaping on the glitz and glam in this silver floor length gown from St John, paired with Manolo Blahnik shoes, Neil Lane diamond earring and EF Collection rings. And Andrews was totally enchanted with the dress, gushing, “I loved it because it had a touch of the sparkle you need forDWTS, but looked elegant and classy! Perfect for the first night. I loved Anita’s touch with the choker…a little hip twist for me! And I always love a look we can combine a ponytail with, it was a great way to show off the dress and choker!”

Her stylist Anita Patrickson agreed completely, concurring, “It’s so clean and elegant and didn’t feel too overwhelming amongst the glitz and the glam of the show! Erin is so gorgeous and has such a big personality that sleek outfits work really well on her. With all the amazing beadwork The dress is almost an accessory in itself so we kept the jewelry very minimal with only a silver choker, diamond studs and then added a simple strappy silver heel. Letting the sparkles (and Erin) do all the talking!”

As for the hair to go with that gown, stylist Ryan Randall wanted to keep things equally streamlined, opting for a “premier party pony!” He enthused, “Erin wanted to have some fun for tonight’s premiere. Her dress was a classic beauty, so we decided on a playful, party pony. Full of texture and bounce, it was a perfect compliment for this look. Loosely gathered and full of texture,” which as anyone who’s ever read this blog knows is Erin’s absolute favorite.”

As for achieving this style, Randall says, “I finger combed her hair back into a hook elastic, and secured it a bit higher than normal for more movement and a playful feel. I used the Harry Josh Pro Tools 1.25″ marcel iron, to add wave and separation to the pony. Once the random sections were waved, I used Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray for the beachy, texturized finish. I locked it all in with R+Co. Outerspace Flexible Hairspray.”

In terms of the makeup look that went with this glittery gown, Andrews’ makeup artist Lisa Ashley sums up the vibe for the night in four words, “Sleeky, Silver, Shimmer, Statuesque.” To start, Ashley has to even out Erin’s tan, “bronzing her face to match her already summer bronzed body,” using a mix of Armani lasting silk #8 and Nars bronzer in Laguna, finishing off the skin with Sisley Micro Milled Powder and giving a pop of color on the cheeks with M.A.C blush in Bareness.

She then, “matched the silver shimmer dress to the eyes in a subtle  way, starting with an all-over matte white lid layered with silvers from the Sisley palette Phyto 4 Ombres in 2 mystery.” Next she, “cut the crease with taupe using the Beauty Blender liner and the darkest grey in the Sisley palette with a wet slanted brush to create a very angled top liner and the lightest grey lightly smudged along the bottom lash line.” For the lips Ashley used, “a Lise Watier liner in nude layered with sephora #22 and topped off with a pinky, silver sparkle gloss in the center only,” and finished things off by, “adding a glowy bronze to the body with a combo of Sally Hansen Tan Glow and South Seas Island Glow.”
